Mood: Busy revision
Reading: revision books

But I dont know which one :hmm:

I'm not at all familiar about lenses.. So can anyone help??
The type of lens I wanted:

:trout: Zoom closely ( I dont know the specific word for it)
:trout: But can still be use in wide angle shots (e.g. 28mm etc etc)
:trout: Any brand that's best (for Canon)
:trout: The price that a poor student like me can afford - 400$ max

Thank you :aww:

Nikon AF 28-105mm f3.5-4.5D IF

It's not a "macro (closeup lens)" if thats what you are looking for. It's a wide angle to telephoto zoom. It go's here in Canada for about $340 (CAD).

It's difficult. A wide angle, macro, it's not so easy. U can try to buy a 50mm f:2.8 Macro. :) Or lens for make macro better :)

Will the lens work for Canon? Because I have Canon, not Nikon :hmm:

Well when you said you didn't care which brand, I had assumed you were going to buy a body to coinside.

If you read my other comment .. I suggest an equivilant for Canon.

I think you want what's called a "macro-zoom" lens. What you can buy is dependent on the specific model and type of camera you own. The fittings on the body and the lens must match exactly so they communicate with each other.
Once you can tell us this, I bet we'll be able to give you some specifics and show you how to shop online for the best price.

When you say zoom close do you mean you want to be able to stand a long way away from something and 'zoom' right in on it to shoot it close up or do you mean you want to FOCUS closely (ie - take photos of bugs and tiny flowers are so forth)?
